When I wrote Happy Endings, I thought that was it. I did it! I wrote a quilt book! Hooray! Done!
But then I remember being at Quilt Market that year, enjoying the fun of being an author. Quilt Market is the trade show for the quilt world and it was tons of fun. At some point, Nancy Martin, the publisher for That Patchwork Place, put her hand on my shoulder and asked, “well, what is Mimi going to do next?”
Up until that moment, I hadn’t even thought about “next”! But then I did. I wrote my second book called Handmade Quilts. It focussed on different hand methods of quilting. It was actually written in contrast to all of the fast techniques that were happening, rotary cutting, speed sewing, fast quilting. It’s what I love!
So here is my second author photo…from Handmade Quilts.
