Special Gardens

The opening event this year at TQHF was a reception at a beautiful garden in Marion Indiana. The best part of it was that, although The Bus filled with 50 quilters was running late, the event planners stayed open, welcomed the bus travelers, and provided a light dinner for them. It was a beautiful place to walk around and become refreshed. It was the best Welcome Reception ever!

And…….I have a friend who is a Master Gardener in Baltimore County. This year she invited our Awesome Women art group to our second annual picnic in the county Demonstration Garden. It’s a delightful place with separate gardens dedicated to education….a rain garden, a Chesapeake garden, vegetable gardens, flower gardens, bee gardens, and a children’s garden. My favorite part of the garden was the barn….painted with quilt patterns!

That barn is so funny. I always wondered what quilt block I would put on a barn if I had a barn, which I never will, and I never could decide. Now I know that you don’t have to make a decision. You can put all your favorite quilt blocks on it.
