Hey, Hon!

It’s always fun to look closely at The Hon quilt and realize that she is really a modern Baltimore Album Quilt! She’s the result of a class I took with my friend Mary Lou Weidman, combining Mary Lou’s story quilting with my love of Baltimore quilts. There are flowers, and birds, and garlands with ribbons, row houses with painted screens, and ruby slippers because there is no place like home. She has greeted visitors with her beehive hairdo, cat’s eye glasses, and heart-shaped lips. Her dress is enhanced with gathered ruched roses, and she brings a smile to everyone who sees her. She celebrates with her very own “crab cake”. So, as I write today, I found myself astounded that I did not take a photo of her object label. Sorry! But I suppose she speaks for herself! As we say in Baltimore, Don’t ya just love her, Hon! ❤️
